When we are under stress our emotions activate neurons that signal the body to release hormones. Depending on the amount and length of stress we are under, our bodies can become stuck in go-mode. The longer our systems stay in this perpetual state of action, the faster we burn through our reserves and the quicker we become exhausted.

If we stay in this state too long, we reprogram our neurons so that the negative emotions we feel under stressful times are easier to recreate. If left unchecked, we feel a constant state of frustration.
